What we do

The graduates for business programme aims to encourage graduate retention in the North East. We match graduates to graduate level positions in small to medium sized companies (less than 250 employees), in the North East Region.

We have a wide variety of vacancies which we are constantly changing, in a range of areas.

How it works

By completing the online application form you will be registered onto the GFB programme. Once we receive your application and CV we will invite you to come for an interview. We will email you with details of vacancies that match your criteria. You can also browse all our vacancies via the website and apply for specific posts.

This programme is an excellent way of gaining your first graduate level role, and gaining knowledge of how small businesses operate.

Company Info

We are not an employment agency. The GFB programme is supported by ONE-NE and the European Regional Development Fund, which funds the service we provide. A subsidy is also provided to the company towards the graduate's salary (minimum of £14,000, to be reviewed in April) for the first 15 weeks of employment to assist with employment costs. The terms and conditions of employment will be directly with the company and not with us.

We visit all companies registering their vacancies with us to ensure the quality of the vacancy and of the company itself, and you will receive support from a GFB placement officer to make sure everything is going well.

To qualify you must

• Have graduated since 2006
• Be unemployed, underemployed or looking to relocate to the North East
• Hold an HND, Degree or Post Graduate Qualification
• Oversees graduates must be eligible to work in the UK.
