Our service

Graduates for Business provides a graduate recruitment service to SMEs based in the North East. The programme is delivered by a regional partnership of Universities and Enterprise Agencies, and receives funding from ONE-NE and the European Regional Development Fund.

How can it help my business?

Graduates can bring up-to date specialist knowledge to your business along with a fresh, enthusiastic attitude. Our team of placement officers will actively search for suitable candidates from our database of graduates and will provide the necessary support and advice through the process.

A subsidy of £70 per week is provided towards the graduate's salary for the first 15 weeks.

What is the process?

Once you have registered your vacancy, one of our placement officers will arrange to visit you to finalise the details of the role. We will advertise the vacancy on our website and will send the job description to suitable candidates from our database. Once you have selected suitable candidates from the CVs we send to you, we will be able to arrange the interviews for you on your behalf. Terms and conditions of employment will be arranged between you and the graduate, who will be an employee of your company.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible for the subsidy you must:

Have fewer than 250 employees
Be based in the North East
Be able to offer a graduate level role
Offer a minimum salary of £14,000 per annum
